Sapranah Yin Yoga - Tuesday–18:00–19:30
Service Description
Sapranah Yin Yoga Yin Yoga is a profound and meditative practice, rooted in the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the ancient philosophy of Taoism. Unlike more dynamic forms of yoga, Yin invites us into stillness, patience, and surrender, allowing the body to open and the mind to soften. At Sapranah, this practice has been lovingly created and shaped by Sarah - a trauma-informed practitioner devoted to guiding each student with sensitivity and wisdom. She understands that every nervous system is unique, and that each individual may respond differently to the deep stillness that Yin invites. Sarah holds a compassionate, grounded space where all are welcome - whether you seek deep relaxation, emotional release, or a gentle path back to yourself. Yin Yoga at Sapranah is not simply about flexibility - it is a journey into the subtler layers of being, harmonising the body’s energetic pathways, known in TCM as the meridians. These channels correspond to specific organs and elemental energies: • Kidney & Bladder (Water Element) – Governing fear, wisdom, and resilience • Liver & Gallbladder (Wood Element) – Supporting growth, transformation, and emotional balance • Heart & Small Intestine (Fire Element) – Nurturing joy, connection, and vitality • Spleen & Stomach (Earth Element) – Cultivating stability, nourishment, and grounding • Lungs & Large Intestine (Metal Element) – Encouraging release, clarity, and renewal Each Yin posture is held for an extended period - often between three and five minutes or more - allowing the fascia, joints, and deep connective tissues to gradually unwind. As we remain in stillness, these shapes stimulate the meridians associated with vital organ systems, supporting the free flow of Qi (life force energy), restoring equilibrium, and enhancing overall well-being. A class with Sarah is an immersive experience, gently woven with insights from Chinese medicine, Taoist philosophy, and the chakra system. Through these gentle yet potent postures, we move beyond muscular effort, touching something more essential - cultivating inner quietude, energetic balance, and a deep reconnection to the self. Sarah will guide you. She will meet you where you are, honouring your lived experience, and offering a steady, nurturing presence throughout your practice. Surrender. Soften. Replenish. Experience the depth of Yin Yoga at Sapranah, where healing begins in stillness, and every breath is a return to wholeness.
