SAPRANAH Viṣuva Candra — A Night of Balance and Renewal
SUNDAY 21st September
6:00–9:00 p.m. | Hill Close Gardens Warwick | £45
Dear one,
The Significance of Viṣuva Candra
On the night of the new moon, when the sky withdraws its light and the equinox holds day and night in perfect symetry, we gather for a unique immersion.
This offering is Viṣuva Candra - a counterpoint to Sapranah Surya, which celebrated the radiance of the sun. Where Surya was fire, expansion, and outward devotion, Viṣuva Candra draws us inward, guided by the subtler currents of moon and shadow. It is a night to listen rather than declare, to surrender rather than strive, and to honour balance at its most profound.
The Evening’s Flow
The practice opens with a shaking meditation, a visceral release that clears stagnant energy and awakens the inner currents. From there, I will guide you - yet the form of the evening is best received in the moment. What I can share is that we will journey through prāṇāyāma, through voice and vibration, and into the cultivation of meditativeness. We will not chase meditation as a technique, but rather allow ourselves to incline towards it - to become meditative, to sit within the possibility of stillness. Together we rest in mantra and silence, honouring the new moon’s fertile emptiness. Sankalpa - the heart’s deepest intention - is ever-present in my teaching, and within this darkness it is held, nurtured, and renewed.
Ayurvedic Nourishment
After two hours of practice, the evening turns towards food. We are blessed to be joined by an exceptional caterer whose artistry is rarely available beyond private, discerning circles. With quiet humility she brings to us an Ayurvedic Tridoṣic meal, a feast of balance that honours every constitution. It is not food for indulgence, but food for nourishment - healing, grounding, and supportive of this moment of cosmic equilibrium. To share this meal is to seal the practice, to embody gratitude not only in silence and chant but also in the simple act of eating together.
Why We Gather
Viṣuva Candra is more than an event; it is a pause in the rhythm of the year, a bow to balance and to beginnings. It is a reminder that darkness is not absence but potential - that even in stillness, life stirs. As community, we enter this night not to achieve, but to honour. We trust, we release, and we begin again.
Viṣuva Candra is a night to step inward, to rest in balance, and to allow the moon’s silence to speak.
