Sapranah Surya Daksinayanavasana
An Afternoon of deep restoration and quiet awakening, where stillness stirs the light within.
SUNDAY 21st December
3:00–6:00 p.m. | Leek Wootton Village Hall | £45
Dear one,
As the year draws toward its quiet close, we gather to honour the still point of the sun’s descent, the Winter Solstice. In Sanskrit, Dakṣiṇāyana marks the sun’s southward journey, the turning of light toward darkness before its slow return.
Following the expansive brightness of our Sapranah Surya Summer Solstice gathering, this offering invites you into its counterpart, a soft, slow, and deeply restorative afternoon to nourish body, mind, and spirit before the season ahead.
You are warmly invited to wear comfortable layers and bring your yoga mat and a blanket. Together, we will journey through yielding yin and restorative yoga, woven with prāṇāyāma and subtle energy work to soothe the nervous system and restore inner equilibrium. Those who know my teaching will understand, all you need to do is trust, and I will guide you as I always do: gently, intuitively, and with care.
The practice will unfold into a deep Yoga Nidra, accompanied by a live sound bath, where harmonic frequencies wash through the body to reset, release, and return you to a state of still, luminous balance.
This afternoon of stillness offers a sanctuary from the pace of the year, a time to rest before the festivities, to listen inwardly, and to reconnect with the quiet rhythm beneath all change.
To close, Jane, our beloved caterer from Visuva Candra, will serve a warming Ayurvedic tea alongside her handmade Christmas cake. For those who wish, there will be an opportunity to purchase her delicious dates and cake to take home for the holiday season.
Step into stillness with us this Solstice, your place in the circle awaits.
